WEEHAWKEN, NJ – Dec 2, 2019 – TrueFort, the application detection and response company, today announced it has appointed three proven female executives each with over 25 years of experience to round out its senior leadership team. This C-level expansion builds upon the company’s recent $13.7M Series A funding round, several industry accolades for its technology innovations, the creation of its advisory board, and today’s announcement of the Fortress XDR™ platform, see: http://bit.ly/33kW55y.
Eileen Spellman joins as Chief Finance Officer, Monika Goldberg as Chief Marketing Officer and Tammy Schuring as Chief Revenue Officer. In addition to embracing C-suite diversity, the company is countering other industry practices with its founders coming from the IT practitioner, not vendor community, and basing its operations in New Jersey, rather than Silicon Valley or Boston.
“Eileen, Monika and Tammy are all proven, senior executives who have consistently delivered results, and possess the skills and expertise we need,” said Sameer Malhotra, CEO and Founder of TrueFort. “At TrueFort we’re proud to say we have gender balance on our senior leadership team. We believe, as studies have shown, that C-suite diversity will be a valuable asset in helping us achieve our near and long-term business goals.”
Eileen Spellman has been engaged with TrueFort since 2017 and was instrumental in managing the company’s Series A funding. Her background spans controllership, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), operations management, investor relations and business process improvement. Eileen assumes responsibility for overseeing finance operations, legal and human resources. Previously, she served as vice president of finance for Aperture Technologies, a division of Emerson Network Power (now Vertiv), where she implemented and upgraded financial systems to support the company’s growth from $14M to $40M in revenues, played a key role in two major acquisitions, and partnered with venture capital firms to position the company for a successful exit.
“It’s been an exciting couple of years helping TrueFort evolve from a bootstrapped startup to a venture-funded enterprise,” said Eileen Spellman. “I look forward to implementing the scalable financial and business processes needed to grow the company’s revenues and position it for leadership in this highly competitive market.”
Monika Goldberg has successfully built and taken several enterprise technology brands to market leadership positions. She leads both marketing and product management at TrueFort. Monika joins TrueFort from global cybersecurity company Bitdefender, where she was vice president of global marketing and responsible for an organization spanning corporate communications, campaigns, content marketing, brand, design and web. At ShieldX, an emerging vendor of cloud security and micro-segmentation technology, Monika served as vice president of marketing and business development. She has also held senior positions with McAfee, Intel and Cisco, and like the TrueFort founders, began her career in IT.
“TrueFort has the technology and team to establish the industry benchmark for application visibility, control and protection,” said Monika Goldberg. “It’s an amazing team that uniquely understands the customer point-of-view. I look forward to building a brand and solution that will elevate application security from its code scanning and infrastructure roots to a more comprehensive, application-first approach.”
Tammy Schuring is a proven enterprise software sales leader with expertise in disruptive technologies that fundamentally change how business and application challenges are overcome. She previously served as vice president of worldwide sales and field operations for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Data Security, and held the same role at Voltage Security, where she grew revenues from $0 to over $150M through the company’s acquisition by HPE. In addition to TrueFort, she is also on the board of Storyleaders, a transformational learning program focused on leadership through connection and the power of story.
“TrueFort has developed a new approach to securing applications that uses behavioral analytics to protect them and their workloads,” said Tammy Schuring. “Since enterprises are shifting their security focus beyond infrastructure and more towards applications and data where business happens, I’m excited to be a part of the TrueFort team that’s first in bringing this capability to market.”
